Scientific Illustration

In 2016 I completed the University of Washington's certificate program in Natural Science Illustration. This wonderful program allowed me to refine my skills in a variety of mediums such as watercolor, pen & ink, and colored pencil, and draw an array of interesting subjects including walrus skulls, exotic ferns, trilobite fossils, horseshoe crabs, and pangolins. The most valuable part of my learning experience may have been the newfound ability to translate information about the natural world into a drawing; every organism has a story to tell about its life processes, and as I refine my skills I hope to become better and better at telling those stories in a concise and attractive way.
